The Haunting is the latest movie in the beloved horror franchise to hit theaters, and with good reason.
The first installment, 2011’s The Haunt, had an uncanny knack for turning a dark, atmospheric tone into a cinematic masterpiece, with its dark, eerie score and hypnotic visuals.
Its sequel, 2013’s The Conjuring, also utilized that dark, haunting theme, but the movie was also a bit of a disappointment for a studio that has never been known for its cinematic prowess.
Now, it’s back with its own remake, The Haunter, which is set to hit cinemas on May 27, 2019.
The remake is set in a haunted house and stars Jessica Chastain, whose performance as a haunted-house-dwelling woman in the first film earned her the lead role in this remake.
But she’s not the only star in the new remake.
The movie’s producers are bringing back a host of actors from the first and second films to join the cast.
These include Daniel Day-Lewis, Josh Brolin, Michael Shannon, and James McAvoy.
